Berkeley Forum Announces Fall 2017 Event Lineup

BERKELEY, California ― August 29, 2017―Today, the Berkeley Forum announced a selection of events from its Fall 2017 lineup, which includes 12 talks with leaders from various fields and disciplines.

You can view the announced events and sign up to receive notifications when tickets become available on our upcoming events page. All events are open to the public and free for UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff.

These exciting speakers and topics cement The Berkeley Forum as an integral campus institution,” said Haley Keglovits, president of the Berkeley Forum. “We are honored to host speakers such as Carol Christ, UC Berkeley’s new chancellor, Alexandra Petri, a satirical columnist for The Washington Post, and David Kurs, the artistic director of the Deaf West Theatre. I’m incredibly appreciative of all the work our members have put into this lineup. Their contributions to the Berkeley community will have impact for years to come.”

The Forum’s team is working to confirm more events for the Fall 2017 session. All dates and speakers are subject to change. About the Berkeley Forum
The Berkeley Forum is a non-partisan, student-run organization at the University of California, Berkeley. Established in 2012, the Forum hosts debates, panels, and talks by leading experts from a variety of fields. The Forum exists to provide the Berkeley community with a space for the free expression and debate of a wide range of viewpoints.

We have welcomed over 5,000 attendees to more than 60 events. The Forum’s events have been covered by many media outlets, including the New York Times, Politico, CNN, the Associated Presss, C-SPAN, and the San Francisco Chronicle.

Since its founding, the Forum has hosted a number of distinguished guests, including Senator Rand Paul, PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, ACLU President Susan Herman, Khan Academy founder Salman Khan, Oakland Mayor Jean Quan, former U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro, Sopranos creator David Chase, President and CEO of Liberty in North Korea Hannah Song, Virtual Reality Journalist Nonny De La Peña, and Chief Justice of California Tani Cantil-Sakauye.
