Cecilia Chung at the Berkeley Forum

Transgender Law Center Senior Strategist and HIV/AIDS awareness activist Cecilia Chung is a nationally recognized civil rights leader and activist for LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, and health advocacy. She was the former Chair of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and is currently serving on the Health Commission. Cecilia has been working tirelessly on the local, national and international levels to improve access to treatment for transgender people and people living with HIV, and to erase stigma and discrimination through education, policy, advocacy, and visibility.

Event Description

Cecilia Chung is a nationally recognized civil rights leader and activist for LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS awareness and health advocacy. She has been working towards improving access to treatment for transgender people and people living with HIV, and to eliminate prejudice and encourage cultural competency through a combination of education, policy and social advocacy. Drawing on her personal experiences, Cecilia Chung will talk about living with HIV and being a transgender person in our society. She has successfully advocated for uninsured patients to receive gender reassignment surgery in San Francisco and is at the forefront of HIV and transgender activism.

Admission

This event is open to the public. Entry to the event will be open to ticketholders and a limited number of walk-ins. Walk-ins are strongly advised to arrive early to maximize their chance of being admitted. Our standard event policies apply. What follows is an overview of the admissions timeline. It may be subject to revisions as the event approaches. Seating in the venue is first-come, first served.

6:30 p.m.  Admission Opens for Walk-Ins (Limited Seating)
6:55 p.m.  Admission Closed (No Late Seating)
7:00 p.m.  Event Begins

Note on Tickets

Tickets are non-transferable. While you may purchase a ticket on someone's behalf, their name must be listed on the ticket. All attendees will be asked to present a Valid ID at the venue that matches the name on the ticket.
